We all panic when we lost our belongings during our trip. But what can we do if that really happens to us?
1. Avoid bringing too much cash with you
If unfortunately you lost your cash, the travel insurance will have a maximum benefit, which is usually around HK$1,000 – HK$3,000. So even you bring HK$100,000, they may not give you a full compensation.
2. Report to the police within 24 hours
We all know that we panic if things unfortunate happen to us. But still, try to stay calm. Remember the first thing you would like to do, if you really lost your belongings or cash, is to report to the local police and file a claim. This is because most of the insurance companies will not accept your claim if you report to the police after 24 hours.
3. Remember to keep the receipt with you
You should keep the receipt with you whenever you buy something that you think is valuable. Remember whenever you want to get compensation from the insurance company, the best evidence for the value of your item is your receipt. So do not throw away your receipt.
